Every day Always Home sees the vital role that childcare has in keeping a family stably housed. But childcare is expensive. The average annual cost of infant/toddler childcare in Connecticut exceeds $15,000, a price tag beyond the means of most low- and moderate-income families.

With generous support from The Whaler's Inn, Always Home Childcare Solutions Program proactively helps families resolve a childcare emergency before it spirals into income loss or unemployment and an episode of housing instability. We work with parents to maximize available resources, develop a dependable childcare network and provide the short-term financial assistance families need to bridge the cost of childcare until longer-term solutions are established. We assist with the cost of daycare, summer camp, before- and after-school care and, when needed, a child's transportation. Children are given valuable enrichment opportunities while parents maintain steady employment and stable housing.
