CHILDCARE SOLUTIONS
Every day, Always Home sees the vital role that reliable childcare plays in keeping a parent employed and a family stably housed. But childcare is expensive. The average annual cost of infant/toddler childcare in Connecticut is over $18,000, a price tag well beyond the means of most low- and moderate-income families.
Always Home's Childcare Solutions Program helps families resolve a childcare emergency before it spirals into income loss or unemployment and an episode of housing instability. We work with parents to maximize available resources and develop a dependable childcare network. Short-term financial assistance with the cost of daycare, summer camp, and before- and after-school care is available to families who need to bridge the cost of childcare until longer-term solutions are established.
To be eligible for Childcare Solutions Program assistance, you must have custody of a minor child or children and live in Eastern Connecticut (New London County or Windham County). If you meet these eligibility requirements, contact Marlynn Benker at mbenker@alwayshome.org for more information.
